This is money that was actually received during December, not just theoretical future earnings.

Affiliate Earnings:

Google AdSense: £184.27 - This is actually two months revenue

Flash Earnings:

Sitelocks: $250

eBay Earnings:

Profit: £47.67 approx

These are after deducting PayPal fees, eBay fees, post & packing fees and stock cost. Packaging has a bit of a fudge factor, but is probably reasonable accurate.

The profit is a bit disappointing considering the amount of sales made - getting up for £600 excluding p&p charged. eBay made more than I did, and PayPal fees weren't far behind.

Web Directory Advertising:

This is after deducting PayPal fees.

DirectoryGold: $673.88 - Unusually high, probably won't be maintained

Total Earnings:

£231.94 and $923.88

MochiAds Publisher Revenue Compared to AdSense

For hosting MochiAds games on their sites, publishers get a small fraction (10%) of the games' advertising earnings from impressions and clicks generated from their site.

Now, it has been stated on a number of occasions that publishers shouldn't depend on this for revenue, but should use other income sources. So, here's a rough comparison between AdSense and Mochi publisher revenue.

Games Portal: The games detail pages, which are the way guests play Flash games here, have a couple of AdSense ads on them. In the about 6 weeks or so they've been active, AdSense revenue has nearly equaled the total publisher revenue for the past 19 months.

Planet of Zombies: Both AdSense and Mochi publisher earnings started at the same time. In this period, AdSense earnings have been several hundred times the earnings from Mochi as a publisher.

The Flash Games Site has too few MochiAds games to make a realistic comparison, and has also swapped between AdBrite, AdSense and BidVertiser.

So, I would say that monetising your sites through other advertising networks as a publisher will make a substantial difference.

AdSense Referrals Gone

Well, Google's AdSense referrals program has now been discontinued, so I've removed the gadget from the blog layout. Still unsure why they stopped it, or whether it's going to be replaced with something.

I'd recently decided to try using Google's AdSense Referral ads. These ads paid you for each action, rather than per click or per impression, so had the possibility of generating good returns. Then, I received an email from Google saying they were going to discontinue the referrals program during the last week in August. Even though I've read the AdSense blog, I'm still not really sure why they're doing this. Perhaps poor performance?

Best Day Ever with Google AdSense

I've had the largest amount of income that I've ever earned from my Google AdSense account for one day today. Easily double the next best. It still may be well under what the experts are getting; still I'm pleased about it. Now, if only I could do this well every day.

Google AdSense

I am a member of Google's AdSense affiliate program, like many people on the web. Google doesn't like members disclosing much in the way of stats on pain of removal from the program, but it's definitely one of my big earners.

I've been a member for about five years, and it took a long time to reach my first payment. Now, I usually get one every month.
