MochiAds Publisher Revenue Compared to AdSense

For hosting MochiAds games on their sites, publishers get a small fraction (10%) of the games' advertising earnings from impressions and clicks generated from their site.

Now, it has been stated on a number of occasions that publishers shouldn't depend on this for revenue, but should use other income sources. So, here's a rough comparison between AdSense and Mochi publisher revenue.

Games Portal: The games detail pages, which are the way guests play Flash games here, have a couple of AdSense ads on them. In the about 6 weeks or so they've been active, AdSense revenue has nearly equaled the total publisher revenue for the past 19 months.

Planet of Zombies: Both AdSense and Mochi publisher earnings started at the same time. In this period, AdSense earnings have been several hundred times the earnings from Mochi as a publisher.

The Flash Games Site has too few MochiAds games to make a realistic comparison, and has also swapped between AdBrite, AdSense and BidVertiser.

So, I would say that monetising your sites through other advertising networks as a publisher will make a substantial difference.

AdBrite

I've decided to change the ads on my Flash Games Site from BidVertiser to AdBrite. I haven't been really happy with the ads being displayed by BidVertiser - mostly for gambling sites - so I've decided to give AdBrite a go.

I've added quite a few new games to my Flash Games Site, and the site is ranking in Google. No result yet from the BidVertiser ads yet, still, it's early days as far as the site is concerned.

I've also got quite a number of MoreGamers credits stacked up. Now, I just need to get a banner so I can use them.

BidVertiser Added to Flash Games Site

I've decided to add BidVertiser ads to my Flash Games Site, replacing the previous Google ones, as a trial. I've replaced all the Google ads, as having two similar programs on the same domain can result in losing your Google account.

Flash Games Site Update

Well, it's been slightly more than two weeks since I launched the experimental Flash Games Site. I added the original games included with the script, and added 23 more so far. The site has 58 pages listed in Google, and is showing in the search engine rankings (see image to left). No real traffic to date, and no revenue, although I've earned a few credits with MoreGamers that can be used for site promotion, although I need a banner of my own first.

The site could do with a bit of a redesign, as currently it's pretty much "out of the box" with no real customization.

More Gamers

MoreGamers is a targeted entertainment banner exchange and advertising service. It's specifically for entertainment websites, such as games, jokes or humour. I've currently got it running on my Flash Games Site. There are three levels of membership for publishers, Basic, Premium and Paid. I currently have a Basic membership. You earn credits from advertisements views on your own site and on the sites of other members you refer at the Basic level. Your own banners are only shown on other Basic members sites.

Premium membership guarantees "above the fold" display on other Premium members websites, and Paid will generate you cash for Paid ads displayed on your site.

Flash Games Site

Some time ago, I purchased a Flash arcade game script. Until now, I haven't actually used it, as it didn't really fit with my main game section. I've just purchased a domain name, and hosted the site on my main server, and uploaded the script and the Flash games to the site. I've currently got Google AdSense running on it, although I'm going to see if I can find any decent CPM banners that I can add too. The site is at http://www.flashgamessite.net

It's not really going to cost much of anything to run the site. I already have the server, and had the script, so it's mostly just the domain name. I'll probably add some Flash games every week to consistently add content. It will be interesting to see how well the site does.
