Valentines Day Recipes

I've set up another ebook site, "Valentines Day Recipes", which is designed to sell an ebook of the same name, plus a free bonus ebook. There's also an affiliate program, run by PayDotCom, which pays affiliates 50% on each $14.97 sale made.

"How to Grow Beautiful Roses" Update

It's a bit over a week since I launched the "How to Grow Beautiful Roses" site. Although no sales have been made yet - and I really didn't expect to have made any - here's what I've done so far.

PayDotCom: Affiliate program has been added there.
Affiliate Directories: Submitted site to directories from that list.

3 affiliates signed up so far.

Article Marketing: Made one article,"Preparing to Grow Roses, or Laying the Foundation" , using material extracted from the book. Submitted it to Article Marketer.

Link Promotion: Submitted the site to General Free list from the Vilesilencer site.

The site is already in Google. According to Google Webmaster Tools, it currently ranks at 9 for the search term how to grow beautiful roses. Not bad going in about a week.

Promotion has gone fairly well, now to see how well the site does.

PayDotCom

I've just started using PayDotCom to promote some affiliate programs. PayDotCom is in many ways very similar to ClickBank, although it does have a number of advantages.

Firstly, ClickBank requires a separate account for every different URL. In other words, you can't sell one product on http://www.firstsite.com and a second one on http://www.secondsite.com. You can sell a selection of products on one site though. Each account requires a setup fee too.

Secondly, until an account has paid out $100 three times on ClickBank, you can't request payments by direct transfer to your bank account. This is a fairly serious (expensive) disadvantage to anyone without a US$ bank account. I would need to either set up a bank account that deals with US$ with my bank, which I would need to have regular monthly cheques in order to justify the expense, or pay a substantial cost each time I banked a cheque, say $20-30. Once these costs start accumulating for every new account set up, it would get fairly expensive. PayDotCom pays directly to your PayPal account, which can often be transferred to a bank account for no extra cost.

Now, I'm sure PayDotCom has disadvantages too, I just don't know what they are yet. I've also added the PayDotCom widget to the blog which promotes popular products from both PayDotCom and ClickBank (see below for example).

Browsershots

I discovered this site, Browsershots, which tests a websites compatibility with different browsers and operating systems - including Macs. Simply enter your websites URL, select the browsers you want to test it against and any other options, and you'll get thumbnails of how your website will look in the different browsers. Each thumbnail can be clicked on to produce a larger image. Useful for mass testing your site for compatibility.

Flash Games Update

This is an update on the Flash games I've been monetizing.

Quiz Me:

First, earnings from Kongregate. Total lifetime earnings here are $0.61.


Next, MochiAds earnings. Total earned here is $0.02. This game hasn't been widely distributed, as there seem to be problem in getting the questions to load on some site. It's only available on Kongregate, my Flash Games Site and Games Portal. There are no MochiAds earnings from Kongregate, as their ads cancel the Mochi ones out



MochiAds publisher earnings. I do, in theory, earn money from MochiAds games published on my own sites. However, there have not as yet been enough impressions to generate any revenue.



Total earned from the game to date $0.63

UFO Assault:

Kongregate earnings from this game are $0.62.



Next is MochiAds earnings. This game has had a much wider distribution than Quiz Me, being listed on 78 hosts according to MochiBot. Total earnings are $0.26.



Publisher earnings from my three sites. Again, not enough impressions to generate any revenue yet.



Total earnings from UFO Assault currently stand at $0.88.

Mars Slider:

Kongregate earnings from this game are the highest of the three games. Total earned to date is $1.80.



MochiAds earnings aren't as good as UFO Assault, again due to lack of distribution. Total hosts listed at MochiBot is 20. I hadn't distributed this as much as I was trying to fix a problem with the game. This has now been fixed I think, so I will use the GoofyGamer submission service to increase it's distribution. Total earnings to date from Mochi are $0.05.



Once again, Mochi publisher impressions are too low to generate any revenue.



Total earned from Mars Slider to date is $1.85.

All Games:

Total earned from all three games so far is $3.40. This is not by any means a great success from a revenue generating point of view to date, especially considering how many hours it takes me to make a game. However, I was spending this time making the games anyway as a viral traffic tool. Any revenue is a bonus. Although it would be nice to make a decent hourly wage from them also.

Kongregate December Earnings

Total earnings from Kongregate in December were $0.12. Once again, the best earner was UFO Assault.

myLot December Earnings

myLot earnings for December are in. Total earned during this period was $11.09, again mostly from referrals. This is enough for a pyment to be received on or by January 15th.

MochiAds December Earnings

Total earnings from MochiAds for December were $0.08. This was from developer revenues only, as there were insufficient publisher impressions to make any money.
