There's been a theory for some time that links from .edu domains are "worth" more than ones from ordinary .com, .net etc. I'm not sure whether I believe this or not, but if you want one from a .edu domain, here's how to get one.
Go to SETI@Home and download, install and run the BOINC software, then choose SETI@Home as the project you want to use. When you have done at least some processing and earned some credits, you can edit your profile, one field of which is your webpage URL.
